Peter Pletcher, owner of PJP Farm, is one of the most successful Hunter/Jumper Trainers in the Country. Having been in this business for over 30 years, Peter has ridden and trained some of the country's top horses and has received most of the industry's top honors. A few of his career highlights are listed below. In addition to his successes, Peter has coached his clients and their horses to numerous National titles and honors.
Throughout his career, Peter has been known and appreciated for his amazing riding ability, expertise, and fun-loving personality.

2024 - Inductee into the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame!
To be eligible for induction, an individual must have at least 15 years of participation in the show hunter industry. They must have distinguished themselves and their horses through their achievements and contributions to the history and tradition of our sport by their achievements and contributions to further the history and tradition of our sport.
2015 - Peter was awarded for reaching the USHJA -The Elite $1 Million Dollar Club for total money earned by a Professional rider in recognized USEF divisions! Hunter standings include all of the A-rated open hunter sections, classics, USHJA International and National Hunter Derbies, and Pre-Green.
Peter has ridden numerous horses to top National titles and championships at all the major indoor shows and the prestigious Devon Horse Show.
2010, he was invited to participate in a demonstration of the Hunter Derby Classics at the World Equestrian Games in Lexington, Kentucky.
2005 and 2007, he was named to a team representing our country before an international audience in Las Vegas. The World Champion Hunter Rider Team Challenge pitted four top US hunter riders against a global team of world-class jumper riders. To this day, Peter considers that a career milestone!
2002, 2004, and 2007, Peter won the World Champion Hunter Rider of the Year in the annual event sponsored by the American Hunter-Jumper Foundation.
Peter has represented the US in numerous International World Cup Competitions. In 2002, the Chronicle of the Horse named Peter the Professional Rider of the Year.
2002, he was honored with the Emerson Burr Trophy.
I1991, he piloted his jumper, Uncle Sam, to win the prestigious President's Cup at the Washington International Horse Show!

Jef Lauwers is a professional rider at PJP Farm. Born in Duffel, Belgium, he started riding at 12. Jef got his start in the horse business because his father bred jumping horses, and Jef would start these young horses and show them until they were ready to be sold.
Upon completing Engineering School, Jef moved to the United States, where he initially competed as an amateur rider with PJP Farm. In 2019, Jef became a professional rider for PJP Farm. He was the Developing Pro National Champion at the 2021 Capital Challenge Horse Show.
Jef’s favorite part of the horse business is developing young horses into successful hunters for their owners. He loves to teach riding and educate horsemanship to both adult clients and young riders. His favorite hobby is singing and discovering new things when not in the show ring.
